Plot: A series of interconnected short films follows a washed-up producer as he pitches "hillarious" and insane story lines featuring some of the biggest stars in Hollywood.

Every once and a while a horrible movie comes out that really makes me question how out of just pure stupidity the studios in Hollywood haven't gone out of business yet.  Sure, I know that the masses of mouth-breathers out there love mediocre crap, but every once in a while a movie comes out that just makes you wonder how anyone could possibly like it.  Movie 43 is one of those movies.  I don't think I've ever seen a movie that made me feel more pessimistic about Hollywood.  It makes me sick to my stomach to even think this movie got green lit.

The plot of Movie 43(that is if you really want to call it a plot) is about a washed up movie producer, sadly played by Dennis Quaid, pitching horrendous story lines featuring some of the biggest stars in Hollywood.  In one pitch he talks about a woman going on a date with a guy who has balls on his chin.  In another pitch he talks about a woman wanting her boyfriend to be the first one to take a dump on her.  In another pitch he talks about the iBabe which is a music device shaped like a naked woman that boys keep putting their penis in which in consequence gets mangled due to the fan being placed in the vagina.  In another pitch....okay never mind.  You get the picture of this awful movie.

I'm not the type of film critic/enthusiast that is hard to impress.  I really like action and horror B-Movies and I even like the occasional dumb comedy.  Movie 43 however is an abomination and a punch to the face to anyone who has ever had a script idea turned down by a major studio.  The fact that the people involved in this movie would even try and think it was a good idea to make this movie just makes me enraged.  There are so many serious and good writers trying to make it in Hollywood and it is a disgrace that this movie would even get a green light from a studio.

Some of the sketches in this movie wouldn't even be good enough for Saturday Night Live.  I know there are some bad sketches on Saturday Night Live, but the sketches in this movie make even the mediocre and bad sketches on SNL look decent in comparison.  I really hated the movie MacGruber (2010), but after seeing Movie 43 I could probably re-watch MacGruber and still hate it, but at least it would be better than the awful piece of crap that is Movie 43!

If you couldn't tell by now I absolutely hated this movie and for good reason.  I couldn't believe that they got so many big stars to be in this.  I really hope most of these actors are just ashamed of themselves.  It is one thing to make a mediocre or even a dumb movie, but Movie 43 goes way beyond mediocre or dumb.  One thing I'm glad about when it comes to the cast of this movie is that no one from the Apatow gang such as Seth Rogen or James Franco were in this movie.  I consider that group to be on the forefront when it comes to comedy and it would have seriously upset me if I had seen one of them in this.

The movie is full of lame and stupid raunchy humor.  I get that movies like There's Something About Mary (1998) were decent and funny, but that was fifteen years ago.  It is time to move on and stop doing the same raunchy humor.  Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen's movies could be considered raunchy, but at least they are original ideas and not mediocre crap.  Movie 43 is so juvenile that I would almost make the lame joke that it was written by 12 year old boys, but if I did that I would have to make a public apology to 12 year old boys everywhere.  This movie is so bad that it actually makes really bad parody movies like Meet the Spartans (2008) look decent in comparison.  When you make a movie that makes bad parody movies look good that is when you know you fucked up.

I really don't think I'm being too hard on this movie.  This movie offended me not because it was raunchy, but because it is a slap to the face to anyone who tries to make real art and entertainment.  The sketches in this movie are lame and the jokes go absolutely no where.  The only little ounce of credit I'll give is for the sketch titled "Machine Kids".  It was the only thing throughout the entire movie that got a laugh out of me and even it was just a little above mediocre.

The "geniuses" behind this movie were Peter Farrelly and Charles B. Wessler.  I've read that they were trying to make a modern day Kentucky Fried Movie (1977).  Well gentleman you tried and you absolutely failed.  You have made a movie that will be talked about as being one of the worse and most embarrassing things to ever come out of Hollywood.  This is without a doubt one of the worse movies I have ever seen and I'm giving it the absolute lowest rating I possibly can.
